Fresh start....New friends....New style!!

Hey guys... Well I know I went straight back to being a bad blogger again but I have been a busy little kitty cat!

I decided to really try and make this little business work for me, so I gave my creatures a whole new look. After realising just how much I love felt, now each creature comes with a little felt friend and they have their own little story about how they met (This comes hand written on the back of a laminated art card!)

Here's what I made..

It's been a busy week... But I feel really inspired by my favourite season..Autumn!
So.. Meet the guys..

Firstly I made Fredric... He loves Autumn! Mainly because he is the perfect colours to blend in with the season. But also because his best friend is a fallen acorn! Alberto is this acorn....One day on one of his Fall strolls through the woods Alberto fell from a tiny acorn tree, they just clicked... Now they go everywhere together. These guys love adventures through the spooky woods and eating soup. They also love collecting leaves and jumping into big piles of them!

Fuzz...She loves the cooler months because she loves nothing more than cuddling round a bonfire! In fact it was at one of these bonfire snuggles that she met Meg! She was picking out a marshmallow to toast when she saw her little pink friend at the bottom of the bag...They just stuck like glue and have been together ever since. Together they like to sing camp fire songs, and tell each other stories.

Zack...He LOVES Halloween!! He's a spook freak... This all started when he dived into his Halloween candy one year and found a small misshapen coconut flavour jelly bean..He was so convinced it was a tiny ghost that they became best friends and he named it
Zeb! Together they love to make each other jump and play tag. Also they enjoy sorting through those jelly beans..You never know when a new friend might pop up!!

Charlie...He loves October because he loves Halloween! This is because he met his best mate Colin at this time of year! Charlie was trick or treating and was given a bag of treats..In the bag he found Colin, and they have been best buddies ever since! Together they like to read spooky stories, make Halloween cookies and eat sweets.

Gretel... Autumn is her favourite season..Because it's the CONKER SEASON!!!!!! And Gretel loves conkers, which is great because her best friend Graham, is one. Every year Gretel would hunt through the Autumn leaves for a prize winner... She found one in Graham! Together they enter regular conker battles, Graham doesn't mind one bit, he takes the knocks... It's all in the name of teamwork!!
When they're not battling it out on the conker circuit, they enjoy mugs of hot cocoa together and watching leaves fall from the trees on windy days!!

Lenny is a sock creature.. He loves liquorice, which is just as well really because his best friend Cedric is a liquorice Allsort. Lenny was diving into his regular birthday box of Liquorice Allsorts when he spotted something slightly different at the bottom of the box... That something was Cedric! They found straight away that they had an awful lot in common, like a love of old comedies and sudoku puzzles.. Together they also love to build wonderful models out of Allsorts and then slowly eat away at it whilst watching tv. Their most impressive structure so far has been The Eiffel Tower, however they are hoping to recreate the London Eye before 2012!

Fizz... She loves cute things! Quite possibly the cutest thing she ever found was her little friend Candy. Fizz was at the local pick your own when she did just that.. And picked Candy! They became best friends and found they have so much in common... Candy loves cuteness too and thinks that Fizz is super cute..and fluffy!! She loves cuddling up to her. Together they love trips to the park and people watching from the local cafe!

Terry is a sock creature...And he loves the colour orange...This may have been why he picked Pete to be his best buddy. Well this and the fact that he's utterly adorable! Terry was choosing the perfect pumpkin to carve one Halloween when he saw tiny little Pete. So he bought a super awesome sized pumpkin to turn into a spooky lantern and got little Pete free of charge. Together they love to listen to spooky stories whilst eating pumpkin pie in candlelight!

Fred is a sock creature... He is crazy about the cold months because he's looking forward to the bonfire celebrations on November 5th. In fact it was that time last year that he came across his little toffee apple friend Kenny! He was at a firework display when he headed for the sweet tent.. Little Kenny caught his eye (mainly because of their matching candy spots!) so they watched the rockets together and have been inseparable ever since. Together they love to collect pebbles and head to the beach to watch the waves in the evening, beach firework displays are best!

Spot is a sock creature.. She screams for ice cream!!! And that is why her best friend is one! Spot met Selina at a summer fete, of all the local ice cream flavours available, Selina was by far the greatest choice.. After all Spot has strawberry ice cream coloured polka dots so they match perfectly...Now they go everywhere together...They are particularly fond of boat trips and fetes.. After all it brings back fond memories of their first meet!

Barney is a sock creature.. He loves bubbles, any bubbles... Bubble wrap, bubble tea, bubble gum... But most of all bubble mixture. Because of his bubble loving ways, his best friend is Bubbs, a bottle of bubble mixture. They met in the corner shop when Barney was buying some bubble gum. He saw the reduced bin and had a snoop through, there at the bottom was Bubbs. It was a match made in heaven...Even their colours matched. Together they love playing in the sunshine (the bubbles look awesome!) And practising for the local bubble blowing contests. Aiming for a bubble with a diameter of 30cm. One day the Guinness Book Of Records!

Spotty is a sock creature, and despite the fact that she loves the indoors, her best friend is a clump of grass named Greg.. You see Spotty doesn't get out much these days and has become a big fan of daytime tv and baking. However on a trip through the park to get some ingredients for a lemon cheesecake, she spotted Greg. Greg dreamed of seeing much more than the park, so when Spotty offered him a spot on her sofa, he jumped at the chance! Together they love to watch tv whilst nibbling through their home baked delights!

Betty is a sock creature... She just loves jokes, because of this she became best friends with Lolly. She was searching through the freezer section of her local supermarket for lollies with jokes on the stick (You don't get them so much these days!) when she found Lolly. And although Lolly didn't have a joke, she also loves a good giggle, so they hit it off straight away. Together they love practical jokes and just being silly. They also love sitting in the sunshine and having a good old chat whilst people watching and making up funny stories.. Usually about the people they see.

There you have it.. A weeks worth of new creatures! On and Gretel and Lenny both sold..So I hope they're enjoying their new homes!

I also started a Facebook fan page HERE

So I'd love it if you headed over and became a fan. That way you get to stay in touch with all the new goodies in the shop and are first in line for any promotions!!

Kitty's wishing tree

Well... Being a big Keri Smith fan and constantly wanting new exciting and inspirational adventures I bought the book.. The Guerilla Art Kit..

The Guerilla Art Kit shows how small artistic acts can start a revolution. Keri Smith, noted author of the Living Out Loud and the blog Wish Jar Journal, uses her unique drawing and handwriting style to help anyone find and release their inner artist or activist. This visually exciting activity book—full of step-by-step exercises, cut-out projects, sticker ideas, and more—has both fun assignments and handy tips to help you unleash your creative energy into the streets where you can really make an impact. From the quick exercises—leaving books for strangers to find, chalking quotes on the sidewalk—to the more involved—making a "wish tree," guerilla gardening, or making your own stencils—The Guerilla Art Kit contains everything you need to put your message out into on the world......

Awesome Huh!!? Well having already done knit tagging..sweet messages... little notes and chalk messages I decided to try something new.

A wish tree!!

All I needed was:

An envelope
Paper or fabric
Scissors
Pen
Tape
String

Then..

1. Create an envelope or use an existing one.

2. Cut out blank tags and punch a hole near one end of each tag. Tie 5-inch pieces of string to the holes. Place tags in envelope.

3. Affix envelope and pen to a tree or somewhere nearby. Write some of your own wishes on a few tags and hang them there to encourage others. You can do this exercise using a tree you find in public or if you have a tree in your front yardthat passers-by have access to.

Or instead of tags, use coloured ribbons approximately 10 inches long. This makes for a visually beautiful tree when full!

So with all this in mind and being a colourful kind of girl I went for neon card and wool...

I went to the woods and found the most perfect little acorn tree and invited people to put wishes on and wait for them to come true.. Either in person or virtually via the internet!

We started the tree off with a few wishes of our own...

And at first the tree looked like this...

But slowly as the weeks passed.. People actually stopped and started to make wishes..

And not so slowly.. The tree began to fill up!

For more pictures come check out my wish tree set on flickr

And join up to the facebook group Kitty's wishing tree

We now have over 200 wishes! And that makes me very very happy!

Wishes really can come true... I believe it! And if they don't there's no harm in a little hope is there?? Especially if it's neon!!

Make a wish guys... Come and join in the fun!!

If you've ever been in love..... You'll understand!

Hey guys!! Well its been about 10 months since my last blog!
Hey!.... But I have a great excuse! Because about 10 months ago I met a boy!!!
Yes! It's true guys.... After a very long time living the single lady life.. And I mean a looong time, after all check out the kind of literature I had taken to reading..

Hah exactly... I had even made my old lady plan... I was going to grow old in a house surrounded by cats, whilst I knitted tea pot covers and drunk tea from tiny cups whilst sitting under a blanket! Then one day my buddy Jek said that she had once written the list of her ideal guy..And met him! WOAH! I thought that was so crazy and magical that I decided to write a list for myself!

The magic had started...One Knitted Fruits night.. (It's a group that my friend and I ran to meet local knitters and crazy craft kids!)a friend of mine turned up with this lovely guy...who only stayed for about a few minutes. This however was long enough for me to deduce that A. He had fantastic hair B. He looked good in a scarf and C. I really really wanted to know this guy.

Well to make it simple.. I'll let this comic I made explain the story to you!!

So... After that little fairytale, I hope you can see why I've been AWOL! Hah but it doesn't just stop there guys.. Oh no! Because anyone who knows me, knows I am a crazy mad fan of Nichol Brinkman and her Pillowmonsters! I love them!! I have 8 of the little fellas I absolutely adore them, so much so that I had asked Nichol to make a plushie pinkcheeked version of ME!!

But now with me having a lovely Jacob in MY life.. I felt it was only fitting for Little Kitty to have her very own Little Jacob! So I sent Nichol a picture...

And she sent Little Kitty her very own boyfriend...

A LITTLE JACOB!!!

And she wrote this super lovely tale about the two of them...

Kitty PinkStars was happy as a lark and constantly dancing to the music the birds would chirp. It wasn't until Kitty's waitress at a diner accidentally dropped 2 straws into her strawberry milkshake that Kitty realized that her heart would explode into teeny, tiny bits if she didn't find someone to share it with. Without coincidence, at the exact moment Kitty PinkStars had this realization, a boy named Jacob, who was coloring in the woods discovered that the exact color he needed to fill in the drawing of cotton candy was missing from his crayon box. Being a particularly devoted colorer, Jacob rushed off of his toadstool on the hunt for something pink to use as a coloring medium. He ran through the streets desperately, when out of the corner of his eye, through a diner glass window, he spotted the precise color he needed---it was Kitty PinkStars aura. He was mesmerized by it. His feet moved him into the diner before his heart even knew what was happening, and when their eyes met, they found that their vocal chords didn't work. So, Kitty PinkStars offered Jacob the rest of her milkshake via her spare straw and the rest is history.

They went for a milkshake...

The rest is a love story waiting to be made...

Yep I'm HAPPY! VERY HAPPY!! He's the jelly to my ice cream....

We live in our own little world.. He's my muse! He's inspired me to doodle again!

We're different but the same in so many ways! It's like he was made from my list!!

And yep... I never thought I'd be saying it... But this love thing is totally great! And I'm a smitten kitten!
